Literary Oklahoma, Where the Writing Frontier Begins
Oklahoma has been the home state of important writers, beginning with Sequoyah in the early 1800s. The most famous, worldwide, is its native son, “cowboy humorist” Will Rogers. Our Oklahoma Author Adventures Trail includes three Will Rogers sites, plus one for Sequoyah, a drive-in movie theater connected to The Outsiders, as well as portraits of writers like Angie Debo, and a public library named after author Ralph Ellison.
