Strand Bookstore

Located on Fourth Avenue, the Strand Bookstore is a unique place that every literature lover should explore. It was founded in 1927 and boasts of containing “18 miles of books.”

The special thing about it is not just its two stories and basement full of books. If you take the elevator to Floor 3, you will find the Rare Books Room. Inside are many kinds of early edition books of all genres and languages that are difficult to find any other way. If you looked, you could probably find some that are hundreds of years old!

I visited with a few friends, and we joked that we could live up there forever. The experience is well worth the visit.
